Pioneer, freight hauler, scout for John C Fremont, Horace Frink built his house on what is now Mission Road and set up his citrus grove, one of the very early groves in the region. The adobe structure was finished in 1874, and served as a residence until the 2010s. The City of Loma Linda worked with a developer to save the building and turned it over to Two Canyons Conservancy. It will be restored and become the site of a living history museum and small park where visitors can experience the sense of the purpose and determination of the early pioneers.
As with so many houses in the inland area, Wyatt Earp, the gunslinger and a driver to Frink’s freight company, slept there.
- Discovery highlights and destinations
As of 2022, the Frink Adobe was saved from demolition and decay. Two Canyons Conservancy invites the public to participate in the development of this site as a gem in the region – clean-up, restoration, programs, park development – and fund-raising.
