Asistencia

Located in west Redlands on Barton Road, Asistencia is a 1930s recreation of the 1830s outpost for Mission San Gabriel. Today’s structure is itself historic, and is designated as California State Historic Landmark #42 as an outstanding example of the workmanship of construction managers of the Depression-era Works Progress Administration.

Today, the adobe buildings, set in a typical early-California style compound, is owned by Redlands Conservancy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the region’s built environment and the natural and agricultural environments. The Conservancy manages the site for public benefit and private events. It is periodically open to public for tours and activities.
